Costs of the Service
Am I entitled to free Mediation?
Many clients will qualify for public funding (Legal Aid) and get free mediation because they are on a low income. You are automatically entitled to free mediation if either you, or your partner with whom you live, is in receipt of Income Support or Income Based Job Seekers Allowance. If you can show us evidence of this, no other assessment is necessary.
If neither of these apply to you, we will need to assess your income and
capital in line with the
Legal Services Commission criteria. Assessing clients for public funding and working out the right charges for them is undertaken at assessment.
What does it cost?
Mediation MK is a not for profit service, dependent upon grants and clients’ fees to cover costs, however, in order to ensure that our service is socially inclusive, we charge on a sliding scale, based on your individual income.
If you are eligible for publicly funded mediation, there will be no charge to you. Otherwise, payment is on a session by session basis. These are as follows:
